Privacy Policy

This policy explains the limited information processed when you visit Open Market Notes and the choices available to you.

Effective date19 July 2026
Last updated19 July 2026

1. Scope

This policy applies to the public pages of openmarketnotes.com. Open Market Notes is an editorial publication. It does not currently offer public user accounts, accept newsletter subscriptions, or sell personal information.

Links to other websites are governed by those websites’ own privacy practices.

2. Information we process

Information handled when pages are requested

Like most websites, our hosting and security infrastructure may process technical request information needed to deliver and protect the site. This can include an IP address, browser and device information, requested URL, date and time, and security-related signals.

Aggregate traffic information

We keep limited, aggregated traffic counts to understand how readers find the publication. These records contain the hour, referring website’s domain, landing-page path, and a visit count. We do not store the full referring URL, a visitor profile, or a persistent visitor identifier in this traffic table.

Language preference

If you choose a site language, your browser may store that preference using local storage so the site can remember it. This preference remains on your device until you clear it or change your browser storage settings.

Information you provide

If you contact us, we may process the information contained in your message for the purpose of responding and maintaining an appropriate record of the correspondence.

3. How we use information

We process limited information to:

  • deliver pages and remember language preferences;
  • protect the site, investigate abuse, and maintain reliability;
  • measure aggregate readership and improve editorial coverage; and
  • respond to privacy or other correspondence.

We do not use the site’s aggregate traffic table to build individual advertising profiles.

4. Service providers and disclosures

Open Market Notes uses Cloudflare infrastructure for hosting, content delivery, database storage, and website security. Cloudflare may process technical information on our behalf or as otherwise described in its own policies. You can read Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy.

We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights or security, investigate misuse, or support a business reorganisation. We do not sell personal information.

5. Advertising and cookies

Google advertising is not currently enabled on Open Market Notes.

If advertising or additional analytics services are introduced, we will update this policy and provide any notices or consent controls required before using those services. Google advertising can involve third parties placing or reading cookies, using web beacons, processing IP addresses, and using other identifiers to deliver and measure advertising. Where applicable, readers will be given controls for personalised or non-personalised advertising.

For more information, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.

6. Retention and security

We retain information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described above, operational records, security, and applicable legal obligations. Aggregate traffic counts may be retained to compare readership over time.

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, but no internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

7. Your choices and rights

You can clear the site’s saved language preference through your browser’s site-data or local-storage controls. Browser controls may also be used to block or delete cookies if cookies are introduced in the future.

Depending on where you live, applicable law may give you rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or objection relating to your personal information, and to complain to a relevant data-protection authority. These rights may be subject to legal limitations. Because our traffic reporting is aggregated and does not use a persistent visitor identifier, we may be unable to connect an aggregate count to a particular visitor.

8. Children

The publication is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through public accounts or subscription forms.

9. Changes to this policy

We may revise this policy when the site, its service providers, or legal requirements change. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. Material changes may also be highlighted on the site.

10. Contact

For privacy questions or requests, email privacy@openmarketnotes.com. Please do not send sensitive financial, identity, or account information in an initial message.

This policy is provided for transparency and is not legal advice.
